ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI AND FOOTBALL COACH

You know him as one of the best football players in the world. Meet him as a gamer.

A gamer who has asked himself while playing: what if I made a game myself? What it would look like? What should it include?

Robert's involvment sets us highest standards. We are aware of this high bar. However, we were fully aware of this challenge when we took it on. However, we were fully aware of this challenge when we took it on. Moreover, we feel Robert’s support in facing it.

WHERE FOOTBALL MANAGAMENT MEETS RPG

Image

Football management games have always had a strong RPG element, even if it was not always visible at first glance.

Football player’s profile that includes his attributes? Clearly, it corresponds to an RPG character sheet. Wingman’s dribbling is like fighter’s strength. Central defender’s reception is similar to thief’s dexterity. Quarterback’s pass to wizard’s intelligence. An ability to perform an overhead kick is like a special ability that allows a hero to survive the toughest dangers.

We want to take this ever-present RPG element of the football management games to the next level.

How?

First, starting with the character of your coach. You can choose him from several classes available. Each of them has their own flavour that can influence gameplay in many ways, exactly like choosing a class in an RPG game determines your playstyle. We have chosen five basic classes for you.

Are these all the classes in the game? We have chosen these, because they seem most interesting. But we have more ideas. We can spill that we were considering someone who can always find extra funds and is a master in transfer negotiations. However, we have decided that money is not the essence of football. But who knows, maybe this – or some other previously rejected character – will appear in the game.

Image

Of course, like every RPG, Football Coach gives you many paths to choose from. It depends on you how the coach will develop and which attribute scores will increase with each level. It is not set in stone, then, that a fan favourite cannot master tactics, and the expert in analysis won’t be able to explain to his players how to do rabona or set pieces. Football Coach gives you freedom of choice.

Each coach class, aside from its starting set of special skills has also its own skill tree, a concept familiar from many RPG games. You can find special abilities there, ready to use in various moments of the game. Some of them are related to the match – for instance, you may increase the concentration of your defence – while others might be useful when scouting for talents in the transfer market.

Artifacts are another typical RPG element that will appear in Football Coach. We have compared what dribbling meansfor a wingman to what strength is for a fighter. Let’s extend the comparison: in Football Coach, instead of using a shield to increase armour, you can give your goalkeeper an artifact that will make him a master at playing like a false libero.

The artifacts will be represented through a universal card system. It’s convenient, because every aspect of the game can be expressed this way: after a victory, you can draw your reward from a few cards, but they can turn out to be an artifact that brings back all energy to your player in the middle of the match, a new player, one of special stands to collect, or a luxury car that increases your fame and prestige.

Image

You can buy or exchange the artifacts on the open market with other players. This market may be as interesting as the one where you buy footballers.

STRIKER MODE AND ARCADE ELEMENTS

Image

How many times have you been frustrated in football management games because your striker wasted everything?

You knew that you’d taken care of everything you could. That the team worked. The rival had been read. You had your enemy for breakfast tactically. But one key element escaped you:

Efficiency.

And you’ve lost because the rival scored in the only situation he had.

In Football Coach you can ultimately only blame yourself, because there is a STRIKER mode enabled by a card-artifact that allows you to play as your striker.

We are aware that adding arcade elements may be controversial for the orthodox fans of football management games. But we want to stress – it is still a management game, first and foremost. The STRIKER mode cannot be enabled more often than twice per game. Our experience shows that detailed tactical plans and the creator of set pieces remain much more lethal. The same goes for your skills on the transfer market. Not to mention the strong base such as great academy that raises regularly wonderkids to your prime.

Football Coach is definitely not an arcade game, but yes, we have decided that adding the element of this kind will be something you’ll appreciate when you test it. It’s a different kind of feeling than leading your team. After all, nothing tastes quite like the goal scored in the 90th minute.

Image

The minigame mode used by STRIKER will be used also during the training. Testing a set piece you’ve designed in the creator will allow you to understand its strong and weak sides better. There is no need to do that and you can leave the whole training process to the assistant. But a football practice is not only an opportunity to develop your team; it’s also a separate set of challenges that you can face. Remember that nothing limits you in the training, except for your engagement and time.

YOUR OWN HOME

Image

When do we begin to feel that a house is a home?

When we make it our own. When we change it the way we want, perfecting every tiniest details.

We want you to feel that Football Coach is your home. That the club you’ve created is really yours. That your players are your team, for better and worse. That your avatar is someone special. That’s why we give you an ability to customize basically everything you want.

Make your own club emblem. Choose your colours and the cut of your t-shirts. Give your coach and your players a unique appearance.

Play as much as you want in the stadium creator. Unlock stands and go crazy, because the only limits are imagination and your club’s budget. Your stadium can mix a wooden, pre-war stand with a ultra-modern one worthy of the World Cup finale. We are sure that seeing your team playing their matches on a stadium that has not been randomly generated, but built from scratch by you, will completely change the atmosphere.

Image

It will be the atmosphere of visiting your favourite team’s stadium, which you think of as your own.

Stadium is, of course, the most impressive creator option, but you can also design the whole infrastructure, with academy, research and medical facilities, as well as the stands for fans. Finally, you will be able to locate your base in one of many beautiful localizations. It can be placed in the middle of an European city, in Maracana, or even in Siberia.

STRIKER MODE AND ARCADE ELEMENTS

Image

Play one match daily? Or play all day?

Perhaps you would rather choose and play the way you want?

Having analysed the football management games market, we were surprised by how many of them force you to play in a particular way. The number of matches is frequently timegated, often severely, for instance letting you play only one league match a day. We think that it’s the player who should decide. It’s up to them whether they want to pull an all-nighter, playing fifty matches while drinking two jars of coffee, or relax and play one match a week while wearing a tie to mark the occasion.

Football Coach leaves a variety of game modes at your disposal, allowing you to adjust the gameplay to your requirements and playstyle.

Football Coach will connect you to the pyramid of league games where you will face opponents of matching skill. If you have little time to play, you can stop at this, adding some variety with cup matches.

But if you want to be an intense player and climb up the career ladder quickly, you can play as much as you want. LOBBY is always at your disposal, and it’s always full of players against whom you can test your team and your tactics. You can challenge a rival who’s theoretically much stronger, and then make up for the difference with clever set pieces and a smart tactical plan.

We will also give you tools to organize tournaments. You will decide on the number of players. The system and the schedule. The entrance fee and the rewards. Finally, the rules. Will you go for a sixteen-team tournament like old Euro, which starts with a group phase? Or perhaps an old-school ladder where – to make things more interesting – a match ends when someone scores the first goal? Or maybe you give the players more time to let them get going, and decide you need to win at least three matches to enter the next phase? Aside from the tournaments you prepare yourselves, we will also make them for you, with their unique rewards such as seasonal artifacts.

We see much promise in clan games, too. Found your own clan, invite your friends or recruit players. Victories in clan games will be especially well rewarded, so they’re worth the effort.

You’re about to ask: what about Single Player? We won’t pretend – Football Coach is a multiplayer game focused on online competition. But indeed, if you’re cut off the web, or simply want something different for a change, Single Player will be waiting for you. There is, for instance, a campaign that will make your team face a sequence of challenges. We’re not hiding the fact that we’re planning more for you here, as well – what if your team was suddenly transported into the 70s, with their atmosphere, field rules, and even football stars from those days to beat? We guarantee that, while Single Player may not be the heart of the game, it will still always offer something interesting to do. We’re planning seasonal challenges or ones based on what’s going on in football currently. It is also going to offer unique artifacts that cannot be gained anywhere else.

MATCH MANAGEMENT

Image

A match in Football Coach will be based on advanced AI an 3D graphics. The view is similar to other best football management games, so every player should feel at home quickly.

What’s new is a broader variety of management options. Aside from the classic ones, such as changing tactics, switching players or trying a different set piece, you still have the ability to use three artifactcards chosen before the match. They can increase your morale, improve your player’s stamina or turn on the STRIKER mode, allowing you to finish the action yourself.

SCOUTING, TRANSFERS AND ANALYSTS

Image

Football is changing all the time. Every year more and more depends on whether you are able to read the enemy. Years ago, it was a treat to get a tape with a record of your rival – today every action is analysed and divided into tens of statistics in professional programs. Many advanced statistics enter football jargon, for instance xG factor – “expected goals”.

We are aware of that, so analysis and scouting will be an important element of the game. Think how you can change your tactical plan knowing beforehand not only what positioning does your rival prefer, but also which defender has biggest troubles with playing defensively. Think how much more knowledge about the rival can be gained by accessing his heatmaps for the last matches or browsing his most-used routine set pieces?

PRIVATE LIFE

Image

Buying a good striker is fun. But what about buying a new car? You can earn money in the tournaments. But you can also draw attention of the sponsors with the colourful personality of your manager.

We’ll admit it – the belief that the manager’s private life might enrich Football Coach and give it a component not to be found in any other game was born out of listening to your opinions, meaning the community of fans playing this type of games. It might come as a surprise, but in all genre analyses a common question was: why in the pursuit of simulation the private life of the manager remains completely ignored? We can only imagine how it can impact the life of the club, and in most cases we just won’t find out, because everyone protects their privacy.

We can only imagine how it can impact the life of the club, and in most cases we just won’t find out, because everyone protects their privacy.

What is the private life supposed to mean in Football Coach? It’s the ability to go crazy not only on the transfer market, but also buying real estate, cars or gadgets. It will also be important to build a relationship – with fans, officials, sponsors, or the media, but not only that. You can also take a break from the noise of football and play one of the minigames with other players – for instance, a game of poker.

Image

We are also aware that some fans did not want this type of development in football management games. It’s alright, Football Coach gives you options. It extends a hand instead of putting a gun to your head. Remember that almost every option can be “muted” and you needn’t take care of it, be it the previously mentioned training or private life. Nevertheless, we promise that we work on each option long enough to make it simply interesting – it’s worth giving it a chance.

FANS

Image

Ask yourselves: what is the role of the fans in the life of a football team and what is their role for the virtual club?

The market of football video games is very strong and many elements are simulated in details. In the past, the player was described only by their physical fitness understood as condition, but today morale or team’s chemistry are a norm. This is why we were surprised that, while the simulation of football world is getting more and more detailed, the fans are still that much neglected.

Because ask yourselves once again: what football game pays attention to the role of the fans?

They are merely passive viewers. And in everyday life they are simply so much more. Every football player we’ve talked with confirmed that the atmosphere created by the fans makes a difference. They can lift their players, they can make the rival’s legs weak from fear. There is no football player that doesn’t feel additional adrenaline while playing for the first time by The Kop. Yet, in games, the fans are merely a line of numbers multiplied by the ticket price and added to the budget.
